About Us

Kraemer Consulting Engineers, PLLC (KCE) is a consulting
engineering firm specializing in mechanical and electrical design and management located in Phoenix, Arizona.

Since it’s establishment in 1994, the firm has grown steadily over the last 27 years and has planted firm roots within the local engineering community.

Our current staff includes 28 full-time employees including five registered professional engineers and five managing principals.

KCE’s philosophy is to provide innovative and cost effective designs which embody the “best solution” for a project as viewed from “multiple” perspectives, not just an “engineering” perspective. Most often, the best solutions are also the simplest and simplicity is a key to making our designs easy to operate and maintain. KCE firmly believes in on-going training of it’s team members and the development of efficient engineering processes which assure quality control. The firm is proud of its ability to provide solutions “on time” and “within budget”.
KCE maintains a competitive edge in the design industry by maintaining state-of-the-art support facilities utilizing the latest in engineering analysis and design/drafting software. The latest version of AutoCad is utilized for all drafting work, Trane Trace is utilized for all energy modeling and HVAC loads, and Autocad Revit MEP is utilized for all 3D designs.
KCE prides itself on our long term relationship with our clients and design staff. The majority of our design work is from repeat clients ranging from Architects, Contractors, School Districts, Developers, and Owners. Many of our clients have stayed with us after they have moved onto other firms. The same relationship comes from our staff, many of whom have been employed with us since our beginning. The majority of our staff has been with us for over ten years and there has been zero turn-over with the ownership of the firm which ensures a long term transition for the future.

KCE’s design staff has an average of 15 years of experience and an average employee tenure at KCE of 10 years. The staff has been very stable with little turn-over of personnel. All designers utilize the latest version of Autocad to complete their designs so the need for “red lines” has almost been entirely eliminated. This method eliminates many design and drafting errors which occur due to the misinterpretation of “red lines” while also providing a very efficient and timely engineering process.
KCE conducts weekly project meetings to discuss work load, schedules, manpower loading, and other areas concerning production. Manpower is allocated appropriately to assure that the project due dates are met and the most appropriate design team is selected for the particular project.
Construction-phase services are split between the Project Engineer and the Construction Coordinator. The Project Engineer is responsible for the project through bidding and to provide support during construction. The Construction Coordinator is responsible for shop drawing review, RFI’s, and site observations. The Coordinator will seek help from the Project Engineer when required to clarify construction issues or assist with shop drawing review.
The Administration staff is responsible for the tracking of the project including billings, additional services, project costing, RFI logs, and close-out documents.
